Surprise!

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or image, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory..."

Ephesians 3:20-21 (excerpt)

All we ask or imagine...

Over the past year we have been asking the Lord to work a miracle.  We fell in love with a little boy, half a world away who needed a family.  We started the process not knowing if we could adopt him.

We were told to guard our hearts... being matched with a "pre-identified" child was not likely.

The process was completely out of our hands...

All we could do was pray for the Lord's hand to move on this child's behalf.  And wait.  And wait.

Our waiting is over!!  Praise the Lord!  We are officially MATCHED with the little one we hoped would be our son.  Against all odds, the Lord did an amazing thing.

SURPRISE!!

Not only are we matched with this child, we also VERY unexpectedly received our LOA (Letter of Acceptance) from China!!!

excuse my crazy, un-showered hair!  agh

This is HUGE!  It means the China Center for Adoption staff has processed our paper work and now we can start the preparations to bring this baby home.

We were literally speechless when we got the call...

Now that we have sent off our signed LOA and I800 paperwork, we want to shout it from the roof tops!!  Our God is so good!

Thanksgiving.  It's coming early to our house!

Potty training 301

This is really for me- a few key things to keep in mind during this season of life!

• make peace with the toilet water- it won't kill you when you have to touch it

• don't eat all the potty treats yourself (hint: don't buy peanut butter M&M's!)

• don't be surprised if your 3 year old decides to play IN the toilet (and flushes down a small car!)

• don't become too attached to his cute undies- send them to the trash when messy in public!

• Keep the wipes out of reach of 3 year old

• just prepare yourself each morning for puddles on the floor- or any other surface!

• go ahead and stock up on laundry soap- your gonna need it!

• pull-ups are your friend and enemy!

• if you feel brave and take your 3 year old out in undies, bring lots of extra Everything!

• don't freak out if he wants to bring his potty into another room to do his business- and then carries it Himself back to the toilet for flushing!

• just expect more messes in general

• prepare for a sore back at night!

• Remember: you can't make him do it!

I know there are lots of different potty training methods, and each child will accomplish this developmental milestone when they are ready...

Whew!

Some day I won't even remember this.
